Pirates Sweep

The Pittsburgh Pirates make a case that they’re much better than the Washington Nationals by sweeping the Florida Marlins, Wednesday’s game ending in a 7-4 victory. The LaRoche brothers combined to go five for eight with three RBI and two runs scored and four doubles, Adam collecting three of those to give him seven on the season.

The Pirates staff showed great control today as they combined to strike out eight while walking just one. The Pirates pitches also did not allow a home run today, lowering their HR per 200 innings to 16.3. That’s a very good number, third best in the NL.
