Who Knew the Bullpen would Miss Manny Most

The Dodgers were cruising to their 14th home win in a row, leading 6-0 after five innings. Randy Wolf gave Los Angeles another great start at home, and turned a 6-1 lead over to the bullpen in the seventh. Without Manny’s great defense to back them up in left, however, the relievers fell apart. Ramon Troncoso gave up three runs in the seventh, while Cory Wade and Brent Leach allowed six runs in the 8th. The Dodgers hitters fought back, but the team took their first home loss 11-9.

The Dodgers’ bullpen allowed 10 runs Thursday night. They gave up 22 in the previous 13 home games.

It was a very nice comeback by the Nationals. All those great OBAs in the lineup are starting to pay off. The Nats pen was still horrible, allowing three runs in three innings, but this time, there were more than enough runs pushed across.
