Rob Neyer uses BABIP to argue that Joe Saunders is headed for a correction. While I tend to agree with Rob, it’s also possible that Saunders is the bizzaro Tim Lincecum. He places the ball so well with enough sink that batters keep hitting weak ground balls. With his sinking K/9 also comes a sinking line drive percentage. I don’t think that will hold around 10%, but maybe he’s good enough to hold it at 15%. If that’s true, he’ll continue to be a very effective pitcher.
