Tattersall Comes to Baseball Reference

Baseball Reference landed the Tattersall home run list from SABR. I remember in the 1990s trying to get STATS to buy this data, but SABR used to want to keep tight control over the list. Great to see it in the public domain now. Just click on HR Log on a batter or pitcher’s page. Here’s Babe Ruth’s home runs allowed as a pitcher. Four of the ten were inside-the-park hits.

Interesting Buck Weaver, who, IIRC was a member of the 1919 White Sox hit one of those homeruns. Ray Chapman also hit one of those home runs. Wasn’t he the player who killed by a beanball.

I’m also familiar with the name Fritz Maisel. His son, Bob, was a long time sports writer for the Baltimore Sun.
