Ryan Bobbles, Cardinals Win

With the Cardinals up 3-2 and the Brewers with a man on first and one out in the bottom of the ninth, Mike Rivera grounded a double play ball to short, Brendan Ryan tried to pick it up, but it took a while to find the handle and he could only get the man at second. Counsell then singled to make the bobble look ominous, but Hardy hit another ball to Ryan, who fielded it cleanly for the final out of the game.

Manny Parra lived on the edge for Milwaukee, giving up seven hits and five walks in 6 2/3 innings, but just three runs. That was enough for him to take the loss as the Cardinals bullpen shutdown the Brewers over the last 3 2/3 innings. St. Louis takes over first place in the NL Central by one game over the Brewers.
