Ryan Dempster broke his toe and the Cubs place him on the disabled list.

No word yet on how Dempster incurred the injury. Carlos Zambrano will start tonight in on three days rest in Dempster’s place.

Kevin Hart was recalled from Triple-A Iowa, and will start tomorrow’s finale against the Braves.

Hart is 2-2 with a 4.68 ERA in a brief major league career. He strikes out a decent number but walks too many.
