The Mets did their best to blow a 7-0 lead, but held on for a 9-7 win against the Reds. Jeff Francoeur picked up two more hits in his second game with New York, and is four for nine since the trade. In a rare game in which the Mets bullpen didn’t need to work much (they’re averaging 3.1 innings per game) they end up allowing four runs. Still, the bullpen’s ERA isn’t bad. With today’s performance, they post a 3.66 ERA.
David Weathers ended up costing the Reds the game when he allowed two solo shots in the seventh inning. That proved to be the difference in the game. David had only allowed two home runs this season coming into the game.
