The Astros win a very big game, defeating the Cardinals 3-2. They got a good start from Brian Moehler, 2 2/3 shutout innings from the bullpen, and a three-run homer from Carlos Lee. The Cardinals out-hit Houston 9-5, but two double plays helped, and the Astros timing of their hits was just better.

The win brings Houston to one game over .500 and three games out of first place in the NL Central. After a 20-29 start, the Astros are 27-17 since the start of June and right back in the division race.
