Can Pujols Still Win the Triple Crown?

With four games remaining, Albert Pujols leads the National League in home runs, trails Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard by four in RBI, and trails Hanley Ramirez by 11 points in batting average. Obviously, Albert would need a big weekend to win the triple crown.

The toughest would be in the batting average race, and it’s tough because at this point the Marlins can sit Ramirez. I suppose Florida may feel they need to put their best team on the field as Philadelphia is still fighting for home field advantage, but if Ramirez sits, Pujols would need to go 12 for 16 to win the batting title .34155 to .34146. If he hits that well, I would bet he’d drive in enough runs to at least make the race for RBI interesting. St. Louis, too, is fighting for home field advantage, so Albert has a reason to play every day.
