MetsBlog.com likes the idea of Henry Blanco becoming the personal catcher for Johan Santana. Santana credits Blanco with Johan’s 2004 improvement:

…i wouldn’t be opposed to something like this at all…it gets Blanco his one game a week, which is all he will probably be able to give anyway, and if it makes Santana an even better pitcher this year, it is a win-win for everyone…

At this point, Santana is going to pitch well no matter who is behind the plate. If Blanco is really that good at mentoring pitchers, he should be catching the ones that need the help.
