A Bad Santana is Better than Most Good Pitchers

Johan Santana walked three in the second inning against the Dodgers, an unusual display of wildness by the lefty. He got out of the inning, however, without damage as he struck out the opposing pitcher with the bases loaded to end the inning. The high number of walks for Johan ran up his pitch count, and he only lasted six shutout innings. The Dodgers proved no problem for the Mets bullpen, however, as New York wins 4-0.

In the four games since Manny Ramirez went on the disabled list, the Dodgers are 1-3, shutout twice, and scored a total of five runs.
