Worth the Wait

The Twins had to wait three seasons for Francisco Liriano to regain his form after injuring himself to the point of needing Tommy John surgery. He appears to be all the way back as he pitches eight shutout innings against the the Detroit Tigers, walking one and striking out ten. That gives him 27 k, 10 BB and no home runs allowed in 29 innings of work. He posts his third straight short shutout and runs his consecutive scoreless inning streak to 23. The Twins found their Johan Santana replacement. Minnesota takes the game 2-0.

I know it’s early, but Liriano looks like he’s in Cy Young form.

On an aside… every time I click a link or in the comment box, I get a pop-in ad. This is the only page it happens with. Does anyone else experience this? If it happened elsewhere I’d suspect a virus…
