Albert Pujols’s agent is not familiar with the phrase, “No man is an island.”
“We have to pay attention to any significant multi-year deal, especially one signed by a big first baseman. But the reality is that there are no comparables for Albert. He is on an island by himself,” Dan Lozano tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Joe Strauss.
Let’s hope Albert doesn’t start talking to volleyballs.
Of course, Lozano is right. Any deal signed by Fielder or Gonzalez or Howard is only a starting point if you have the right multiplier. When Alex Rodriguez signed with Texas, it was 1.25. It might by 1.5 for Albert.
Multiplier?
