6 and 0 Ubaldo

Ubaldo Jimenez allowed a run Monday night as his old battery mate Yorvit Torrealba doubled to drive in a run in the fourth inning. Jimenez started a new streak, however, pitching three scoreless innings on his way to a 5-2 Colorado victory over the Padres. Ubaldo struck out 13 in his seven innings of work and walked just two. He now holds an 0.87 ERA with 44 K in 41 1/3 innings.

It’s shaping up to be a great Cy Young race between Jimenez, Lincecum and Halladay. (I don’t think Livan Hernandez and Jaime Garcia are going to last.) Ubaldo holds the advantage in ERA and home runs, Tim in strikeouts and Roy in walks. Jimenez and Halladay also get bonus points for pitching their home games in tough parks for pitchers.
