Strasburg Helped by Defense

The Atlanta Braves appear to have adopted a strategy of going the other way against Stephen Strasburg. Martin Prado pulled the ball and grounded out, but Melky Cabrera went down the leftfield line for a double, Chipper Jones drove a 1-2 pitch deep to left for an out, and Brian McCann singled to left. McCann hit the ball so hard that Josh Willingham threw out Cabrera at the plate. That was not an overpowering inning by Strasburg, but the Braves deserve praise for adjusting and not trying to do too much against him. They’re putting the bat on the ball, and went 2 for 4 against him in the first inning.
