San Juan Fireworks

The Mets and Marlins combine for five home runs as they open their series in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Marlins added three doubles to go with their three home runs and blow away the Mets 10-3. Ricky Nolasco walked none and struck out nine in seven innings for the win, a big one for manager Edwin Rodriguez, a native of the island. Chris Coghlan, who got off to a terrible start this season, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk and now owns a .343 OBP.

Nolasco now own 77 strikeouts on the season with just 18 walks.
