Evil Player

The Evil Player program selected Dustin Hughes as Thursday’s evil player. Hughes fools batters into thinking he can be hit, but this year he bears down with runners on base, releasing his evil pitches to hold batters to a .169 BA and a .220 slugging percentage in those situations. He’s often used as a LOOGY, coming in for one out and leaving the game, although his only platoon advantage against left-handed batters is in preventing power.
