Loney Goes Long

James Loney hits a one-out home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to send the Dodgers faithful home happy with a 3-2 win over the Mets. Neither team had scored since the sixth inning when the Mets scored twice to tie the game. The Dodgers bullpen did not allow a hit after the sixth inning, walking two and striking out five from that point on. Loney came into the day 21st in the majors in slugging percentage among first basemen.
