Making the Most of a Few Hits

The Mariners did not get a hit off Jon Lester until the sixth inning, Saturday night, and only four for the game. By hitting for a team cycle, taking advantage of an error and walks, the Mariner won the game 5-1. Lester struck out 13, one reason for the low number of hits, but the performance was wasted.

David Pauley only made one mistake in his 5 1/3 innings of work, a home run ball to David Ortiz. The Seattle bullpen went 3 1/3 hitless inning for the win, however.
