The Padres bullpen pitched three perfect innings Wednesday night against the Dodgers, while the San Diego offense scored twice in each of their last three innings to down the Dodgers 6-1. The relievers lowered their ERA to 2.73 and with four K last night have struck out 336 batters in 309 1/3 innings. The Padres scoring late is not unusual as they have scored 35% of their runs from the seventh inning on.
They are the baseball story of the year as far as I’m concerned. Even if it collapses tomorrow.
