Clash of the X-A’s

Rich Harden came off the disabled list to face recently acquired Dan Haren, and the ex-Oakland pitchers put on a show in Anaheim. Haren went the distance in his new home, allowing five hits and two walks over nine innings. The Angels offense could not generate much off Harden, either who gave up two walks and five hits over seven innings. Both pitchers made one mistake. Howie Kendrick hit a solo home run off Harden in the seventh, which helped end his night after 88 pitches. Ex-Angels star, Vald Guerrero, however, hit the big blow, a two-run shot off Haren. That was enough as the Rangers send the Angels nine games back with the 2-1 win.

Vlad is hitting .326 with five home runs against the Angels this season. He’s driven in 13 runs in 11 games, with eight of his fourteen hits going for extra bases. He’s driven in nearly 1/3 of the 45 runs the Rangers scored against LAnaheim this season.
