The Evil Player program selected Esmailin Caridad as Monday’s evil player. Caridad showed great promise in his short stint with the Cubs in 2009, walking three and striking out 17 in 19 innings of work. This season, evil injuries took over with a forearm strain, then an elbow strain leading to five walks in four innings and an 11.25 ERA. Right now, he mails it in on the disabled list.
