A.J. Burnett gives up seven runs in the fifth inning as Toronto takes an 8-2 lead on the Yankees. With Dave Eiland back with the team, I wonder what excuse the Yankees will use for this poor performance. He walked two and struck out four in his 4 2/3 innings of work, but eight of the 17 balls in play against him went for hits.
Excuse? Or reason?
I don’t think they’ve made excuses for Burnett in the past.
@James: I suppose when a reason turns out not to be true, it was more of an excuse. 🙂
