The Evil Player program selected Luis Mendoza as Wednesday’s evil player. Mendoza brought his evil pitching to Kansas City this season, allowing ten runs, all earned, in four inning of work. The Royals were not able to get rid of him on the waiver wire, so they sent him to the minors.

Mendoza owns a career major league ERA of 8.43. Maybe it’s time to name a Mendoza line for pitchers, anyone with an ERA over 8.00. That way, Luis can join Mario as a Mendoza of infamy!
