600 Impressive

Alex Rodriguez just became the seventh player to reach 600 home runs. He did it in impressive fashion with a towering shot over the centerfield wall, slightly to the opposite field. He gives the Yankees a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Alex is the youngest player to reach that mark at 35 years old. It’s the third anniversary of his 500th home run. He’s about five years of 32 home runs away from the record. We’ll see if his hips hold up that long.

Update: Alex’s seasonal age is 34 years old. If he hits 12 more home runs this season, he’ll have the most home runs through seasonal age 36. That’s how far he is ahead of the pack.
