Jeter Breaks Slump

Missed in Alex Rodriguez‘s quest for 600 home runs was that Derek Jeter was also in a bit of a slump, coming into the game six for his last 28. He broke out of that with a four for four day, doubling twice. He did his job as a table setter, scoring three times, including on A-Rod’s milestone home run. Derek is now just 28 hits away from 2900, and passes Joe Morgan for 32nd on the all-time run list with 1652.

The Yankees take the game from Toronto 5-1.
