There’s Always Brandon Morrow

Brandon Morrow stirkes out two more in the eighth inning, keeping his no-hitter intact and taking his K total to 16 batters. He’s throw 115 pitches, 82 for strikes. Dewayne Wise made the great catch to end the sixth. He made the amazing catch to save Mark Buehrle‘s perfect game. The Blue Jays have not given Morrow any room for error as they continue to lead 1-0.

Update: With one out in the ninth, Zobrist walks.

Update: Carl Crawford lines up left for the second out.

Update: Evan Longoria hits a ball to the left of Aaron Hill, and it ticks off the second baseman’s glove for the first hit. Now Morrow goes for the win.

Update: Dan Johnson strikes out to end the game. Morrow throws a career game, 17 K, 2 BB, one hit.

Update: Aug. 9, 2010, 8:42 AM. Wise did not make that catch, Vernon Wells did. Wise came in to replace Wells after that catch. I was listening on the radio, and I heard the catch compared to the Wise catch, and thought Dewayne made it.

That was Vernon Wells who made that great catch. He dislocated his big toe when he impacted the wall. They moved Dewise over and inserted Travis Snider into LF for the start f the seventh.

I thought I heard the radio announcers say Wise made the catch, and they compared it to the Buehrle catch. Probably misheard it.
