Three-Rod

Alex Rodriguez went deep three times on Saturday night as the Yankees won 8-3 over the Royals The three shots gave Alex 604 for his career as he chases down Sammy Sosa at 609.

This was the second time a Yankees player hit three home runs in a game against the Royals. Bobby Murcer accomplished the feat at Yankee Stadium on 7/13/1973. I remember listening to that game on the radio, and Frank Messer announcing the score after the third home run as Bobby Murcer five, Kansas City nothing. That would be the final score as Bobby drove in all five Yankees runs in the game, all on his three homers.

A-Rod may reach 610 HR passing Sosa by the end of the year, but he is on the down slope and will never make 700 HR
