Error Recovery

The Seattle Mariners error against the Indians could not have come at a worse time Sunday afternoon. Felix Hernandez cruised through 6 2/3 innings when Chone Figgins failed to get the third out in the seventh, getting charged with the error. The next five batters would reach base off Hernandez. He gives up two singles, a double, an intentional walk to load the bases and a grand slam to Travis Hafner. All six runs he allowed were unearned. He’ll likely get the loss, as the miscue was poorly timed to coincide with Felix tiring. The Indians lead 7-0 in the eighth inning.
