Gaining Ground

The Rays cut the Yankees lead in the AL East to one game as Jeremy Hellickson pitches another good game in a 3-2 win over Baltimore. Hellickson gives up just three hits over six innings, walking one and striking out five. His ERA is now at 1.35 with a .136 BA allowed. In three starts he’s walked three and struck out 18 while allowing just nine hits. It’s been a great season for rookie pitchers.
