No Longball for Longoria

Even Longoria goes three for four in the 10-1 Rays win over the Rangers, missing the cycle by a home runs. His three RBI brings his total to 76 for the year, which puts him on a pace for 103 this season. The triple was his fifth of 2010; he only hit two for his career coming into this season. He’s missing a lot of home runs this season, with only 15 after smacking 33 last year. His elevated doubles and triples are somewhat making up for the loss of home runs, however.

The Rays remain tied with the Yankees atop the AL East as New York downs Detroit 6-2.
