Via MetsBlog.com, Buster Olney reports that teams are thinking of changing the September roster rules to designate players eligible for a game, so that teams are always playing with the same size game roster. They would still be able to call up players, but only 25 could play in a game. I can imagine expanding to 30 players in a game, so teams have a chance to watch more youngsters and handle injuries, but I always thought that playing with 40 in September instead of 25 was a bit ridiculous.
