Lowrie the Boom

Jed Lowrie leads off the bottom of the 11th inning for the Red Sox with a walk-off home run as Boston defeats Toronto 5-4. Lowrie came in earlier as a pinch hitter and walked, then finished off the game in his next PA. Since returning to the team at the end of July he’s posted a .317/.438/.583 slash line with 10 of his 19 hits going for extra bases.

Makes you wonder why he was starting the game on the bench with some 22 yo kid named Navarro starting. Somebody should tell Tito the season is not over with the slumping Rays and Yankees having their own injures to deal with. Showcase your prospects when and if the season is over (mathematically), not before.
