The Twins lost two pitchers to injury during Saturday’s game, Kevin Slowey and Ron Mahay:
Slowey left after the third inning with a strained right triceps muscle. He said he felt a twinge in the muscle during the last hitter he faced.
Left-hander Mahay left in the sixth after he stumbled off the mound trying to field a dribbler form Erick Aybar. He said he strained his right shoulder.
Like most Twins pitchers Slowey doesn’t walk batters, which is a good thing because he tends to give up lots of home runs. Mahay, at age 39, cut down his walks and is the current poster child for “Lefties Always Have a Job.”
