St. Louis broke their scoreless inning streak when Matt Holliday homered in the first inning against the Astros, but they started a new one as Nelson Figueroa and the bullpen held them scoreless for the final eight innings. That gave Houston the chance to come back with five runs, three on a Hunter Pence homer as they sweep the series. St. Louis is temporarily tied with Colorado, 4 1/2 games back in the wild card race.
