Carlos Zambrano continued making his way back to his former dominant self with seven strong innings against the Mets. He gave up four hits and two walks while striking out eight. His two runs allowed gives him a 1.98 ERA since returning to the rotation on August ninth. He’s been wild, allowing 22 runs in 36 1/3 innings, but he’s struck out 30 and only allowed 28 hits, none of them for home runs. The Cubs take the game 5-3 to give themselves a three-game winning streak.
