Earning A’s

Trevor Cahill and Daric Barton posted big nights as the Athletics defeated the Mariners 9-0. Cahill pitched seven shutout innings to end the season with a 2.97 ERA. Barton hit two homers and a double, driving in six runs. Barton did a lot well this season except hit for power. He drew over 100 walks, doubled 33 times, but only hit 10 home runs. With the big extra base night, his slugging percentage was just pushed over .400. The A’s need to sweep this weekend to finish at .500.
