Home on the Range

The Rangers are winning the battle over ticket prices against Sunday’s Cowboys game:

According to TicketNews.com — a site for ticket brokers — the Cowboys woes are reflected in the ticket prices. As of Wednesday afternoon, StubHub had more than 11,000 tickets to the game. The cheapest: an upper reserved seat for $17. The face value of that ticket is $149. There were 87 ticket packages on StubHub with a price below $30.

In contrast, tickets for Game 4 of the World Series — first pitch at 6:57 p.m. — are still pricey. A ticket in lower home run porch in right field was going for $950 — about 10 times the face value. A ticket in the lower bowl just behind the Rangers dugout was being offered for $2,225 — again about 10 times face value.

I’m impressed. I figured the worst football game in Texas would always beat the best baseball game. I’m glad to see I’m wrong.
