Brian Bannister takes his sabermetric inspired pitching overseas:

Former Kansas City Royals pitcher Brian Bannister has signed a contract with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan’s Central League.

The 29-year-old right-hander signed a one-year deal worth $1.8 million Saturday.

His father pitched in Japan as well.

As a low strikeout pitcher, Brian needs to keep his walks and home runs allowed low. He did neither in 2010, so he went where he could make more money.
