Pretty Good Nova

All day long I’ve read on Yankees sites how Ivan Nova had to pitch well tonight to stay in the rotation. Nova answered with 6 1/3 innings, allowing one run. He left after 92 pitches and walking a batter in the seventh, giving him two walks and three strikeouts in his quality start. He needed to pitch that well, too, as Gavin Floyd made two mistakes, giving up solo home runs for a 2-1 Yankees lead over the White Sox in the bottom of the seventh.
