Kyle Phillips hit the first home run of his major league career Monday afternoon, and it proved to be the game winner as the Padres defeated the Braves 3-2 in ten innings. Phillips was in at catcher on a double switch, coming up in the tenth inning for his only plate appearance of the game. So far in the majors, Kyle doesn’t hit the ball too often, with just 10 hits in 48 at bats, but five of those hits have gone for extra bases.
