Big Fly Cabrera

Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie with the Angels and send Detroit to a 5-4 victory. With his 18th home run of the season, Miguel is on his way to another season with a home run total in the low to mid 30s. He’s hit 33 twice and 34 twice, and only once in a full season did he finish with less than 30 homers. If he keeps getting seasonal total in the 30s, he could threaten Eddie Murray‘s record of most career home runs without hitting 40 in a season. Eddie hit 504, with Fred McGriff coming in second at 493 and Stan Musial third at 475. In fact, of the first six names on the list, only McGriff is not in the Hall of Fame (Dave Winfield, Cal Ripken and Al Kaline round out the group).
