Three Games in One

The Reds and Cardinals played an interesting game Wednesday night. Cincinnati blew out St. Louis 8-0, for five innings. Then, the Cardinals blew out the Reds 8-0, for four innings. Finally, the team played a four inning pitching duel, with the Reds coming out on top 1-0, winning the game 9-8.

The Cincinnati win kept the NL Central very tight. One and a half games separate the top three teams in the division, with the Reds in fourth place, three back. This is always the division where I hope for a massive tie. Maybe we’ll get it this season.

Albert Pujols went 1 for 6 in his return to the starting lineup.
