Derek Holland took advantage of the weak Oakland offense, holding the Athletics to four hits and two walks as he pitched a shutout in the 6-0 Texas win. It’s the third shutout of his career, the second this season, and his first at home. Rich Harden gave up five runs in five innings as his second start was much worse than his first.

Josh Hamilton went one for four with a single, but drove in four runs, three of them on outs. He hit two sacrifice flies and brought another runner home with a ground out.
