A fan fell at Arlington Stadium Thursday night and died due to his injuries.
The man’s name was Shannon Stone. He was a 39-year-old firefighter from Brownwood, Texas and, sadly, as preliminary reports noted, he was at the game with his young son, who watched the accident happen.
He was leaning over trying to catch a ball tossed by Josh Hamilton and fell 20 feet. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Incredibly sad. My youngest boy is 8, I’ve had the pleasure of taking him to Shea/Citi every year since he turned 3. I can’t imagine how devastated this child is.
