The Minnesota Twins defeat the White Sox 6-3 to go into the All-Star break 6 1/2 games out of first place in the AL Central. The team was 16 1/2 games out after play on June 1, so in about five weeks they knocked ten games off their deficit. They were 17-37 at that point, 24-11 since. With no team in the AL Central playing that well, if the big guns for the Twins, (Mauer, Morneau and Span) can get healthy and start hitting, they could make up those games in 2 1/2 months.
