An Inning Too Far

Roy Halladay pitched a great game against the Diamondbacks, allowing one run in eight innings while striking out a dozen. Unfortunately, he came out for the ninth. He struck out two more batters but allowed two singles and a Lyle Overbay double that scored both runners. That was enough to pin the loss on Halladay as the Diamondbacks win 3-2. Lyle Overbay is probably the happies person with the Derrek Lee trade right now.

The game lived to to it’s great control billing as Josh Collmenter walked one and struck out eight in his 6 2/3 innings of work. Roy walked just one as well, and intentional pass in the ninth.

The Phillies go to 22-12 in one-run games, the Diamondbacks 23-13, two of the best records in the majors.
