Juan Long Win

Juan Pierre collected three hits, the last an RBI single in the bottom of the 14th inning as the White Sox defeated the Indians 8-7. Pierre also homered early in the game, just his second of the season. The White Sox blew leads of 5-2 and 7-5, but the Indians could never put themselves in the lead.

Paul Konkerko and Brent Morel each collected four hits, combining for three doubles.

The win moves the White Sox just 1/2 game behind the Indians for second place in the AL Central. Only 3 1/2 games separate the Tigers, Indians and White Sox. This is the last best chance for a three-way tie in the majors this season.
