South Side Sox releases the results of their Greatest White Sox poll, and Frank Thomas tops the list. This poll looks pretty good, as the fans involved seem to know the history of the team very well. I’m actually somewhat surprised, however, that Carlton Fisk did not make the top ten.

Interesting question. My guess is that it is a combination of two things. Old Comiskey park wasn’t usually a good hitters park and for a long time the White Sox were not very good, so they might not have had many guys doing well in other things, not just power
