In honor of Yu Darvish making his debut for Texas, I’m wearing my Nippon Ham Fighters hat. He walks Chone Figgins to start the game, but comes back to strike out Dustin Ackley. No score in the Seattle/Texas game.

Update: Ichiro wins the first battle against Darvish. With two strikes on him, he pops the ball over the third baseman’s head down the leftfield line for a single. The Mariners have men on first and second with one out.

Update: Justin Smoak lines a single to right. He hit it so hard the runners could only advance one base. The bases are loaded for Kyle Seager.

Update: Seager lines a single into right-center to drive in two, and Darvish and the Rangers are down 2-0 with men on first and third and one out. Yu gets his first visit from Mike Maddux.

Update: A wild pitch hits the brick wall and bounces back to the plate. Seager goes to second, but Smoak stays at third.

Update: Darvish walks Michael Saunders. Darvish has been less than impressive so far.

Update: Miguel Olivo hits a chip shot over the second baseman’s head, driving in a run, and the Mariners lead 3-0. Bases still loaded with one out.

Update: Munenori Kawasaki walks to drive in a run. So far, the Seattle Japanese players hold the advantage with a hit, a walk a run, and an RBI.

Update: Brendan Ryan swings and misses for strike three, then Figgins grounds out to end the inning. Darvish through 42 pitches in the inning, only 22 for strikes.
